‘For a long time the system in the city was different. For Jews, blacks, homosexuals and gypsies life became unbearable.' The play is based on the real life story of Gypsy boxer Rukeli Trollmann, and told by his fictional best friend Hans. Their friendship starts on a rainy November day with a warm ‘good morning' and an apple. Shoulder to shoulder through their youth and the dramatic changes of the Nazi regime, their friendship becomes an unpredictable journey. Multiple characters, shadow-games, mime and a puppet show make for an unforgettable experience.
