Adult Orgasm Escaped from the Zoo
by Dario Fo and Franca Rame

A woman who is imprisoned by her husband in their apartment. A woman trapped by fecundity. A comic duet of two characters from A Woman Alone and The Same Old Story, two monologues from Adult Orgasm escaped from the Zoo by Dario Fo and Franca Rame. Both texts talk about the pressure of machismo experienced by women. Though these are very deep and emotionally charged topics, Fo and Rame's work uses comedy to interact with these themes. Dario Fo, the Nobel Prize winner, gives madness, absurdity and burlesque to these monologues. Fo also gives a voice to the feminine pain, a universal truth which every woman can recognise herself.
